ABIGAIL FONTAINE
Abigail Fontaine is the Mayor of Shamburg. She has also invested a lot of money into realestate and owns a large majority of the city. The scheming woman has been in office for many years and has always found a way to win each election. Abigail is that rich that she paints her fingernails gold and clips them off in front of people she is trying to impress.


ADRIENA LOVINS
Adriena Lovins is a pretty, blond bimbo who is in love with Rome. Her and her friends are always inviting Rome over for photo shoots and cocktail parties.


ATTICUS POPE
Atticus Pope is a street preacher and anti-internet activist. He is a mute, and hangs out in front of Ry's workplace (ESC Cafe). He is also the inventor of the FaceWall.


AUREN FONTAINE
Auren Fontaine is the handsome, wealthy son of Shamburg's Mayor Abigail Fontaine. He is currently dating Ry's ex-girlfriend Elly Brooks. Auren dislikes Ry and always attempts to make his life miserable by flaunting his wealth and Elly in our protagonist's face.


BARABBAS "SEGA BOY" CATHERWAY
Barabbas "Sega Boy" Catherway is Tony's arch-nemesis, and the son of Dolores Catherway who lives next door to Ry Mercer. Though Tony has much ire against Barabbas, the Sega gamer is apathetic towards him. Tony only dislikes Barabbas because he is a Sega console fan, and no other reason. Sega Boy is a nickname that Tony stole from the movie Mallrats, of which he is a big fan of.


BRYCE SYKES
Bryce Sykes is a gay fashion designer and good friend of Rome. His best friend is Natasha Baker and Casey Anderson. Bryce works for the fashion company e-Fad.


CAPTAIN COPYRIGHT
Captain Copyright is a superhero actor who is a resident of Shamburg. He fights against piracy in commercials by day... and stays in his costume by night? The guy doesn't have a life. His real name is unknown.


CARL "SEXY_CHICK" LORIS
Carl "Sexy_Chick" Loris is a gay chatter who frequents the ESC chat room. He is also Ry's temporary online romance, until our protagonist discovers Carl is a guy and not the amazingly beautiful blond, runway model he was led to believe. Carl is also the brother of the Deon "Bulldog" Loris, the leader of the Midnight Rogues biker gang.


CASEY ANDERSON
Casey Anderson is a fashion designer and best friends with Natasha Baker and Bryce Sykes. She is known to have cheated on her fiance Forest Ratcliff with many partners, which unfortunately led to his death in a rage-filled car accident. Rome and Science both attest to having slept with Casey at some point, who Science calls "Racey Casey".


CORNELIUS CUTHBERT
Cornelius Cuthbert is one of Ry Mercer's Film Studies lecturers. He is well spoken, but has a devious mind.


COREY, LYLE & TROY
Corey, Lyle and Troy are a group of kids who buy fake drugs off of Science.


DEON "BULLDOG" LORIS
Deon "Bulldog" Loris is the leader of the biker gang called the Midnight Rogues, and the brother of Carl "Sexy_Chick" Loris. He loves his younger brother very much, and if anyone makes gay jokes at Carl, Deon is quick to drop them!


DOLORES CATHERWAY
Dolores Catherway is the mother of Barabbas Catherway, and lives next door to Ry Mercer. She got stoned with Science once.


ELINORE "ELLY" BROOKS
Ry's ex-girlfriend. She is the older sister of Katie Brooks. Elly left Ry for Auren Fontaine, the son of Shamburg's Mayor Abigail Fontaine. She doesn't know that her younger sister Katie is dating Ry.


FATHER JOHN GREENHILL
Catholic Priest. Father of Vincent "Happy" Greenhill.


FOREST RATCLIFF
Former fiance of Casey Anderson, now deceased. He was drunk and angry whilst driving to Casey's apartment, after hearing about her infidelity, and died in a car crash.


G-HEAVY
Gangster and hustler. Rival of Science's dope dealing. G-Heavy also is the leader of the Bloodletters, who are enemies of the Midnight Rogues (a biker gang).


JENNY RATCLIFF
Jenny Ratcliff is the younger sister of Forest Ratcliff. She works for the Burger Trough with Science and has a secret crush on him. Little does she know that he was somewhat responsible for Forest's rage-filled car accident!


JOSEPH "JOE" AMBRAMOVSKY
Joseph Ambramovsky is the proprietor and head chef of the Slovakian restaurant: Slovy Joe's.


KATIE BROOKS
Ry's love interest. Younger sister of Elinore "Elly" Brooks. Katie moved with her father to the city of Silver Lake when the Brooks family split many years ago. She knew of Elly and Ry's relationship, but had only heard about him in letters from his sister, and never knowing his name.


LARRY TILLER
Larry Tiller is the dimwitted owner of the Burger Trough. He is known to hit on his employees. Science hates the guy.


LANCE & ULRIC
Lance and Ulric are Bam! Arcade gamers, and friends of Tony.


MARVIN "SCIENCE" FARADAY
Marvin "Science" Faraday is a friend of Ry, Tony and Rome (who he is closer too). Marvin is a scam artist with low morals, who is always looking for ways to make money. He went to Shamburg's Catholic Pilgrim High School and was, for a better word, a nerd. He thrived in science and mathematics and was looking to graduate top of his class... when tragedy struck. He was introduced to drugs by an unknown friend, which led him to "experimenting". Evidently he failed all his subjects and finally dropped out. Marvin earned the nickname Science when he started using his skills to create his own drugs. However, he was saved from complete destruction by his friend Rome, who helped him back to the road of recovery. Unfortunately he is known to slip back from time to time---but only smoking pot, which he calls "magic mist". Science does not like harming others, but is known to sell "faux drugs relying on placebos" to kids. He currently works at Burger Trough.


MAY LEIGH
May Leigh is an ex-girlfriend of Science, who he calls "May I Suck Your Dick Leigh".


NATASHA BAKER
Natasha Baker is a fashion designer and solo acoustic artist. She is best friends with Bryce Sykes and Casey Anderson. Natasha dated Ry once, but they are really good friends now.


ROMAN "ROME" REECE
Roman "Rome" Reece is a good friend of Ry, Tony and Science (who he calls "Wigga Wacko" and tends to hang around more). Roman prefers to be called Rome as: "... Roman is singular, and Rome is the entire empire man!" He is known to be the "Ladies' Man" of the group, however is always single, which leads to Tony suspecting he might be gay. Rome works at a lingerie shop called Kotten Kitten, and the YWCA as a personal swimming coach. He is a talented guitarist and singer, and a fan of old-school blues, soul and jazz. Rome went to Shamburg's Catholic Pilgrim High School with Science.


RY JONAH MERCER
Ry Mercer is the protagonist of "Chatters". He is a music and film geek and a pessimist who grew up his entire life in the town of Shamburg. He works a lousy job at an Internet café called ESC Café, but dreams of forming a band as well as wanting to be a film director. His biggest problem in his life is indecision and self-doubt. Ry's best friend is Tony Vermont. His other two good friends are Science (who lives with him) and Rome (who shares his love for films). Ry has currently come out of a 3 year relationship with his ex-girlfriend Elly Brooks, and ironically enough is infatuated with her younger sister Katie (a fact he isn't 100% sure of yet -- that they are sisters that is).


TABER MERCER
Ry's older half-brother. Little is known about Taber, only that he nearly died from a drug overdose, and is currently overseas serving in the army.


TONY VERMONT
Tony Vermont is Ry's best friend, and an avid video gamer. His favourite console is Nintendo, and will avidly boast about how it is a superior system over any other (whereas his arch nemesis Barabbas Catherway will argue that Sega is/was in fact the superior system). Though he can put his foot in his mouth a lot (possibly intentionally?), Tony can also be charming. He grew up most of his life in the powerful Vercelli crime family as one of five sons. His mother had died when he was only 12, and his father always bullied him. When Tony was 18 his father, who didn't see any potential in him to carry on the family business, sent him to live with his aunty. In an act of defiance Tony legally changed his surname to Vermont, claiming his mother's French heritage.
